Default E-Mail off between 09:00 & 06:00

Does anybody know if it's possible to turn your e-mail off during a particular window of the day?? I really don't need to receive e-mails during the day when i'm at the office and can read my e-mails on my computer. I just need them to come to my BB after I leave the office at 6:00. Does anybody know if this is possible?? Thanks in advance for any input.

If you are using redirector, you can, there is a setting you can turn off while connected to your pc at the office.

I am not sure how this will work if you are not connected to a BES. Our users are on a BES and during the day, some users open the BB Desktop Manager software, connect their BB to the computer and keep the software minimized to an icon. There is a setting on the Rediector Page that says "Disable redirection while your device is connected". When the button is checked, the messages completly bypass the BB. This way, they get their email messages in Lotus Notes and it does not go to the Blackberry. The BES Server reports the message as being filtered.

Although I have pretty good experience administering BB's in an Enterprise setting, I have little using the BB as a stand alone Internet Email only device, so I am not sure if this setting will work if you are not on a BES. Hopefully, another member can provide some more insight on that.

Thanks for the input so far. I'm not using a BES, I'm running on T-Mobile's BIS with an 8700. If nobody knows how to do it then I'll just have to suck it up but I'm hoping I don't have to.

Easy, and it doesn't matter what you are running. In profiles, set one of them to silent on messages. When you leave for home, simply "Delete Prior" on your messages, then change your profile to something else. I do this daily, only I shut off the messages at bedtime and turn them on in the am. Hope this helps.

Couldn't you just turn wireless off then turn it back on later when you want to get messages?

You can set your mail client to NOT leave a copy on the server...then when it's open the messages won't go to your handheld

Another (slightly annoying) solution is to set up a filter in your BIS to not forward messages to handheld when you get to work...then remove it when you leave. It would do the trick but it is extra work

Thanks for the help guys, I'll just setup the profile on my phone so it won't alert me when I have that profile active. I'd prefer to set it up to where it won't leave a copy of the server but I have to keep a copy of all my e-mails for at least 2 months in case I have to reference them later so that won't work. Thanks again for the help guys.
