ive got a 6750 blackberry on bell. i have it auto lock after an hour. and today the keyboard on it stopped working. only 6 keys sorta work on it, so i am unable to unlock it. is there any way i can sync off it to at least get the encrypted files saved them put them back onto a functioning unit? ive got a lot of data on it i dont really want to lose.

bell is sending me a replacement unit in a few days but id love to at least salvage some data before hand. when i run the sync from the desktop it asks for my password on the berry but i cant type it in, so it stalls there. :(
i just wish there was some way to sync data off it. i know the password, if i could only just type it on the pc instead of the unit.

guess from now on ill be syncing more often, been over a month since ive synced.

You can simply replace the berrys keyboard if thats what you want to do, its all in the matter of taking off 7-8 screws.

can you direct me somewhere i could get a replacement keyboard fairly quick in the GTA area?

is there any way possible to download the data using like javaloader to dump the image, then i could reupload that image to the new one? so i dont lose all my data?

then i could unlock it with my password on the new working blackberry keyboard?

Not if it's passworded no. Or at least no way I know of.

If it is on BES, you can send down a new password that uses the keys that aren't messed up. Then you can reset the password, back up the device, fix the keyboard and you should be good.

bell sent me a new replacement today. but they sent me the 7750 not the 6750 heh. the ESN is correct on the repair sheet though.

guess ill take losing my data to getting the better model.

using javaloader -p1 -w<password> save <module> i am able to save a few of my items from it! not sure how to save all at once but at least i can save the pasword keeper files and such

Oh you have the password. With backup/restore option you can use the password to backup everything.

i tried that, it wants me to put in the password on the blackberry itself, which i cant. so the backup stalls

cant get my old address book synced over. ah well.

im amazed bell had a replacement unit to me so fast, was only like 20 hours ago i asked for a replacement.

This is the closest information I've found regarding my question. I was trying out the password lock feature on my 7100t and found that I have to unlock the device to sync the PIM data with my desktop. I mean, if the handheld is locked, Intellisync starts, I enter the device password on the desktop, the sync process starts, and then is hangs up when processing the calender data, and only continues after I unlock the handheld. It seemed to me that entering the password on the desktop for Intellisync should be enough. Is there something I'm missing here, or is this the way it is? Seems from the above post that this is the way it is. (I'm BIS, using 4.1. No IT policy installed.)

Well, if I disable content protection, the sync continues while the handheld is locked. Not sure I understand why, but I accept it.
