Default Enterprise Email with Lotus Notes

Please Login to Remove!

All,

I just got my 7100t connected to my corporate email. We use Lotus Notes. I am seeing behavior that I don't like, but haven't found how to change it. When I am out of the office and get email on my BB, I read them. Whether I delete them or not doesn't change the behavior. When I open up Notes to view my email all messages that I opened on my BB show up as read. Since I use a Notes reader and Outlook (yeah, I know) via the POP interface to Notes, I end up with a bunch of messages that are marked as read and won't download to Outlook.

In short, if I use Outlook to download my emails via POP from our Domino server it won't download the emails because they are marked as read.

Can I change this behavior? What I would prefer is that the emails stay on my Notes server in an unread state so that I can download them at a later time with Notes or Outlook. I have turned reconciliation off on my handheld but it does not seem to help.

Any ideas on this?

The earlier version of the BES had this "broken" - that is - it didn't transfer read and unread marks. When we upgraded to 4.0 it then started working. Several users still view this as a problem (like you do). There is no way to change it back that we have found. Maybe post this in the BES Admin forum. Might get some better help there.
I like the fact that now the unread marks work correctly!
