Default How to mute certain callers

Please Login to Remove!

I upgraded to 4.1 specifically for the ability to mute certain people's rings.

I found under the user's profile I can enable a special ring and set it to MUTE.
When I test it from my office line or a friend's line it works perfectly. However, when I mute the one guy I really need to - it rings as normal even though he is correctly identified when calling.

I have removed all the markup from the number in his profile and tried many different things.

Any idea why I can't mute (or change the ring at all) of this one caller?

Ok, I'll bite...why would you even answer the phone if you want him on mute?

Do you mean you just don't want any ring volume when this person calls you?

pretty damn easy, just wish people would read the users guide..

go to profile, menu, create new exception and then go from there...

I edit the profile and did "Add Custom Phone Tune"

Did you do it for both in holster and out of holster?

Seattle18:

How do I do this?

I notice when I edit the exception under profile there is a little red mark over on the left. Maybe that means it is off?
Unfortunately, the only field I can highlight is the ring field - I can't scroll over to change that.

Delete the exception you made in the contact and start over from Profiles. Start with Create new exception and after naming it, add the contact name. Then select the Use Profile to the profile you want to use.

On some Versions of the 4.1 OS, exceptions created when editing the Contact default to the Normal Profile for Use Profile setting and you can't change them. If you have this version, create all exceptions from the Profiles page.

Hope this helps.
