I own a SunCom 7280 and installed a few themes, but decided that I did not like them, and promptly removed them.

The problem now is that my calculator, calendar, and a few other programs no longer run/appear correctly.

I need to know how to restore my BB as if I had just bought it, or is there another way or what?

I did a search on the forums and couldn't find anything that helped.

Please help! And make sure you help in laymen's terms, I am a BB newbie.

Wipe the BlackBerry using JavaLoader or JL_Cmder (see link in my signature). Then reinstall the OS from scratch onto your BlackBerry. You can download the latest OS from HERE.

That worked, except now my BB has a black and white screen with a operating system that appears to be very outdated. What happened to my nice color screen and nice icons?

How do i fix it?

I put the default theme back on my BB and it looks fine now, EXCEPT I can no longer use the phone on my blackberry. I don't have a phone icon on the desktop and when I press the phone button on the top of my blackberry, nothing happens.

When you load the OS, make sure you select to install the phone app (plus other goodies). Just try to hit the application loader and you might be able to load them there..

I now have my phone option and everything seems to be working fine......but I have one last problem:

I can't send e-mail. It says that I have no message services configured, yet I can recieve e-mail at what is my blackberry e-mail addy. How do I make it so that I can send e-mail?

I can now send and recieve e-mail for some reason.

The crisis is over and everything is back to normal.

I feel absolutely like a waste right now.

So I wiped my blackberry and such to fix my apps that weren't working right, but instead encountered several other problems.

Once I fixed those, I just went to bed. Now, this morning, I realize that my apps still don't work/appear correctly. All that hulabaloo for nothing.

If it helps at all, my calculator has the original appearance of when I bought the phone, but that seems to be overlayed on a different type of calculator where each key on the keyboard corresponds to a calculator function on the screen. The problem is that it makes it very hard to see what you are doing because of the two overlayed pictures.

My calendar works fine, but when in month view, the box that highlights what day you are on when you scroll the scroll-wheel, does not move.

There are also a few other problems like that in some other apps.

Just to toss my $0.02CDN in here, instead of using javaloader, an easier way is to set a password on the handheld and connect it to the computer. Start apploader and when it asks for the password, just keep putting it in wrong (10 times) this will do the same thing as a javaloader -u wipe but does not require a dos window
