Arrow Enterprise Blackberry Sync Solution

Please Login to Remove!

I am looking for a solution to sync a spreadsheet or even just a text document that gets updated periodically, with all blackberries. We are using a BES server. and I would like this to be wireless. This list is an emergency contact list that I would like all users to have.
Any ideas? Solutions? Or even if someone can suggest a different forum to post this question.

Thanks,
Hodrige.

Make it available via a Website instead?

The website might not be accessible in case of an emergency... the BES might be dead too. I would like people to have a current list that is local on the Blackberry. Something that I can sync every hour.

Without the BES the users can still user the carrier's BIS browser

Good point ... but I would like the list to be on the blackberries...I can host the web server my network, but I would like it to sync with the blackberries, just in case the building collapses. I am hoping for an off the shelf app if available.

Unhappy

Funambol's sync4j sort of work but the problem is that it adds all the contacts (about 1200 entries) to the address book and in turn gets populated in user’s outlook… and I would like to keep the list separate. If only someone can create a way to sync a simple MemoPad with a server, and keep it in sync. All I am looking for is a list of names and phone numbers that stays in sync with a server... and be accessible even if the network is down... the copy must be accessible on the blackberry like a MemoPad.

If the users are sync'ing their devices why not place it in Memo Pad and have the users save the new copies? They will be available on the handhelds as well.

I've got some perl code that could be modified to read a flat file (on a file server perhaps) and create an outlook note with the emergency contact information. Your bb users would have to run this program periodically to update the note in outlook (maybe in their logon script?), and then it would sync to their handhelds. You are welcome to it if you like.

If you aren't a programmer, I'd be happy to give a quote writing the code for you. Shouldn't take much...
