Default Can blackberry show base station information?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm not sure if this is cell phone specific, but I think it might be a service operator option but I have noticed quite a number of different cell phones here in Europe able to show which city they are currently in, even one of them showed the street which the base station was located this is great while travelling and knowing where you are, or where you are near without a GPS.

Usually it shows it right below the operator name for example Orange or T-mobile.

is this possible on a blackberry? I have no idea where I would find this option..?

anyone know?

It probably has to do with tower routing. There is a thread about the new google mobile using this technology on here. Not sure if any providers uses this technology yet.
