I have an option on my Blackberry to activate Enterprise Activation. What exactly is it? It's not something I have, is it? I'm independent.

Blackberry Enterprise Server. Allows your blackberry to wirelessly sync with your microsoft exchange server. Email/calendar/contacts reconcile over the blackberry network without the need to sync over USB.

If you don't know if you have it, then you likely don't and you can hide the icon. However, there are some third party hosted BES systems such as exchangemymail.com and link2exchange.com which you can subscribe to for about USD20 a month.

Good Day Sir/Madam, Im just new at this and dont even know to make a new post for my question but since your from toronto too decided to get in touch with you, I just purchased a blackberry 7100V from factory direct an open unit, Im under a fido 2 year contract (I know, should have rogers), I tried asking for help with fido 611 and even went to their serivce department at eaton center, they cant help me just gave me several settings and a good luck in your quest send off, all im trying to do is get me some emails access and some web browsing, told them willing to pay their minimum web package, noone can help, have you read anywhere in this forum how I can get connected to the web? thanks czahr

While you should have at least started a new topic instead of asking a totally unrealated question in this thread I will try and answer it. I don't believe Fido has support for blackberries, at least I believe that's what I've read hear. As such you will not be able to use the 7100 except as a phone and PIM. Have you asked Fido if they have a Blackberry data plan?

Fido does NOT support blackberry at this time, despite having a BIS site. Nor have they announced any intention to do so, to the best of my knowledge.

if you have a 2 year commitment contract with FIDO then you must either break the contract and pay the penalty charge (I believe it is $200), or if they alow it, migrate to rogers- I am not sure if they allow that as the two companies are operated seperately despite the sameownership.

Assuming your 7100v is unlocked, you can use it on the rogers network. If you are unable to migrate to rogers/unwilling to pay to break the contract, then you can always get a DATA only package from rogers and use your blackberry for email, while continuing to use your existing fido account for voice calls.
