For those BIS 2.0 users using Yahoo Mail, there is a problem trying to send emails, replys or forwarding emails to other yahoo users. Yahoo now requires the use of domain keys. Since all BIS accounts spoof the yahoo.com domain, emails sent from a blackberry w/ BIS to another yahoo user will be rejected as coming from a spoofed yahoo domain.

Emails sent from a account do not have this problem.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

I just sent an email, using my Yahoo.com account intergated on the BIS 2.0, to another Yahoo email address. I had no problems - email was delivered. Can you expand on the problem?

Same. Sending email from Yahoo.com to another Yahoo.com went through without a problem. Try sending it from your yahoo to your yahoo. See if maybe that can work. Maybe that particular receiving party had a bad acct or something like that.

I have a problem using BIS 2 w/ my yahoo account and teleflip... if I send something to from my yahoo it gets rejected as spam! not trying to hijack the thread just a similar yahoo bis issue

My own yahoo account does not require domain key authentication, but new yahoo accounts do. I believe yahoo is forcing this "technology" on all yahoo mail users soon.

If BIS 2.0 w/ yahoo integration works some, great! I created a new yahoo mail account and then tried to send emails from my BB w/ yahoo integration and they were rejected. I sent more messages from my BIS account and they went through fine.

To make sure all of my emails get through, I've started to send them with my blackberry.net account.

Just to add to my comments. There are more and more email servers that now reject address spoofing. (ie, BIS 2.0 accounts)

That failure would indicate the end mail server at teleflip is rejecting for spam, not a BIS problem.

I think what you may be experiencing on other accounts is what's called Sender Policy Framework (SPF). It identifies at the SMTP level mail being sent from non-specified servers. We implement SPF on our mail servers to reduce the amount of spam.

geekman686 must be using old BIS, not BIS 2.0. For someone on old BIS (like my friend with Yahoo account) her emails do not show in my inbox as Domain Key verified.
They still arrive no problem, may be because she is in my address book.

Yeah, on BIS 2.0 an integrated Yahoo account should be using IMAP and connecting directly to the Yahoo mail servers. Yahoo should be sending your outgoing message not the BIS SMTP servers. In which case you would have any problems. Unless of course you're connecting through POP or have your address set to Yahoo for your hosted account. In that case it would go through the BIS SMTP servers.
