Default Synchronizing other calendar

Please Login to Remove!

Good day everyone!

I'm a new poster though I've been surfing on and off and have found this forum to be of tremendous help! Thank you all very much for the very helpful information you've provided on here.

I have a couple of questions:

1 - Is it possible on BES4.0 to have a blackberry synchronizing someone
else's calendar? For instance: an administrative assistant would have her
manager's calendar on her blackberry.

2 - The reason I'm asking this is that it seems like on BES3.6, this
administrative assistant trying to synchronize her manager's calendar on
her blackberry always ends up freezing the blackberry and therefore the
PC. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you so much,

WXA

Yes but this also worked under BES 3.6. It's doubtful that the BES version is the issue.

Thank you very much for the reply.

I was thinking it would have to do with the user's profile but wasn't sure. I tried everything (from deleting her mail profile... to rebuilding her machine) but it's still not working.

I was thinking maybe we can get it going on BES 4.0 so I'll have to check with my BES admins if it is indeed possible.

Would you have an idea on how to proceed? Perhaps a manual or link, anything that can be of help would do please.

Thanks again for your reply, I truly appreciate it

WXA

Ive had assistants ask for the same thing. from what i've been told and what i understand, you cannot have a secondary or even someone elses calendar on the BB the bes associates 1 AD name with 1 blackberry pin. you could turn off the wireless sync on the BB and then sync it up to the other calendar(as long as you dont connect to the exchange) but this would be something you would have to do every time there is a change to the other calendar

Thanks for your reply Blackberry_jedi,

However that is precisely what is needed. The Admin Assistant doesn't want to see her own calendar on her BB, she wants that of her manager. I know BES 3.6 allows it but it's been freezing the PC.

Apparently BES 4.1 will allow it too but not BES 4.0. If anyone has it working on BES 4.0 please let me know.

Thanks again for all your help!

I wish Jen and I could do this with eac hothers calendars. We share them, and tasks lists on Outlook to keep up with each others schedule when we're apart just so we kknow whats going on, etc. It'd be nice to have em on the handheld as well.

You can do it on BES 3.6. There shouldn't be a problem in theory (unless of course, your PC starts freezing as in our case). If you are on BES 3.6 I could PM you how to proceed.

Goodluck,
