Default International charges! please help me curb them down!

Please Login to Remove!

i just got my 8700g yesterday and have had tons of fun playing around with it. im leaving for uk/india tomorrow and wanted to know if anyone has tips to help control my international charges.

i got the $20 unlimited international data which tmobile offers, that allows me unlimited email while im away. can i email to peoples phones in the USA so it doesnt count as an international text and will count as data?

also is it possible to turn off the voice plan on the handset during the day? i was told that even if i dont pick up the call while im overseas i will be charged for 1 minute that it goes to the voicemail. can i disable calls coming in and do everything thru the email?

lastly, which aim client can i use that will use my data and not sms?

thank you for anyone who can provide some help!!

Ramble will utilise packet data for AIM, and if you use the teleflip e-mail suffix, you will be able to SMS folks in the states for no additional charge.

For the voice part, call T-Mobile before departing, and ask them to delete the voicemail feature from your account. This will prevent the charge that normally occurs when a call is bounced back to the voicemail system in the states.

Can't you just disable forwarding to the voicemail center (under phone options)?

@teleflip.com doesn't always work depending on what your email account is that your using... when I use my yahoo email account from my BB and mail using @teleflip.com it can get bounced back as spam
yak on and ramble use data
