I am relatively new to BB. Is there a way to assign a shortcut key to specific apps? I do know that the BB has some pre-assigned but I would like to change those, and just have specific apps have a shortcut key which I could define and then use from the main menu as I need to (almost like assigning telephone shortcuts). I find myself scrolling around the main screen endlessly to switch apps all the time and I have many apps on the device so I continuously have to scroll around.

Additionally after a good task app and have yet to find one for the BB. One which allows for multiple tasks and then sub-tasks, but one that also has some type of PC integration so I do not have to type everything on the BB. Have tried ToDo matrix but there is no PC integration and must use the BB keyboard.

I believe the problem is that the device defaults to bringing up the phone app. when you type a key ("dial from home screen"). The option to turn it off is suppose to be in the phone app. under general options but I don't see it.

There are shorcuts if you turn off dial from home screen. Pocket Day allows you to self define 5 apps to launch from there. See my tips doc at my site for this and more.

Also you have two assignable Convenience keys - the left and front keys.
