I have tried googletalk on my 8700c with my friends google (gmail) account it it works fine, but every time I try to login with my account, it comes back with 'Invalid User Name or Password'.

I have searched the forums here and found that a few people have had this problem, but nobody has posted a fix yet.

Help please :D

This is not a tough one, try to login into gmail.com and see if that login works, if it does not, there's your answer, if it does, I AM LOST..

Google talk only supports American accounts (@gmail.com) opened and not British accounts (@googlemail.com).

Tried that already. I also had my friend type it in for me in case I was just typing it wrong. Didn't work at all, and it definately works on my pc.

did you find a solution? i am also having the same problem. i have a gmail ID and it works just fine on my PC but still gives me an error on my BB

For us, our corporate security team blocked the gmail chat ip segment. They did that about a week or 2 after gmail chat came out. They block all instant messaging connections, it just took them a few weeks to figure out there was a new one to block.

first try to look in google talk in your computer. folllow the follwing format:

username: username
password: password

* note you dont need to use this format for usernmae
