Question 8700v or Nokia N80

Hi all,

My contract with Vodafone UK (private) is due for an upgrade, so I was looking around for suitable handsets and was all but decided on the N80 but then thought that a blackberry may be a good option, even though I am not a corporate user. It seems that from purely PIM/Email perpsective it is better than any series 60 device, but I wonder whether i will be loosing too much in terms of camera/mediaplayer/wifi capability if i go for BB. Maybe those who had experience of using both can tell how they compare in terms of:

- PIM
- web experience
- 3rd party sw
- general speed of the system
- usability
- viewing attachements (office/pdf/images)
- using it as a conventional phone i.e. without bluetooth startrek things, hate them but still need BT connectivity for the car

8700 for me will be free, N80 around 100, not that big a deal so I m not judging on price.

From what I can see so far, BB is a more focused device that does fewer things but better. N80 is more of an allrounder, and its nice to have a device that can do everything, but i wonder if it will be so compromised in some areas that it ll get on my nerves.

My usage is about 20-30 emails a day (pop and gmail), inetrnet banking, IM, rss, typical stuff really

any help/opinions are appreciated

Hi Sergio,

I would recommend using the BB 8700, not because its free for your but the experience I made with the 8700 is that I will never use annother mobilphone.

I use one BB from my company and also I have one for provate use.

I never used a phone's camera. Mobilphones or PDAs are made for making phonecalls and have all the necessary things with you while on the move.
Taking pictures should be left to devices which are made for that purpose.

B.
