I just called Cingular International and after waiting for nearly one hour received instructions to unlock my BlackBerry 8700c. Is there a way to double check that the device is truly unlocked?

When I entered the code it flashed for a second that it accepted it or words to that effect.

Put in a SIM from another carrier. If it works it's unlocked. I also believe that if you look under the Options -> Advanced Options -> SIM Card. If Security Options say disabled I believe that means it's unlocked.

Just do the following and check the Network status.

1. Go to the "Tools" screen
2. Select "Settings"
2. Select the "SIM Card" option
3. Type MEPD
4. It should then display a list "SIM, Network, Network Subset, etc..."
