Is it possible to mask the address you are sending your email from w/your BB? For example I maintain four email accounts on my BB w/Cingular BIS. I have the reply to 3rd party program which I use on every email I send out however w/Cingular's BIS I can only have the emails sent from my BB appear to originate from one account; either my BB email account (@mycingular.blackberry.net), my two work email accounts (both forwarded to BIS), or my personal account (POP3 through BIS).

Would it be possible to just mask the sent from email address and only have the reply to email address listed on each email that way I can reply to all of these various email accounts making it appear that when I am replying to each one through the individual email client account? What I am proposing is similar to a lot of spam that we all receive that masks the sent from address.

I imagine this could be accomplished w/Link 2 Exchange or a BES integration however I have not enrolled in either of those services or possibly this could be accomplished with the Cingular upgrade in the near future.

I have a 7290, running 4.1.0.292.

Thank you for the links. After reviewing those threads I understand that once Cingular updates to BIS 2.0 that I will be able to take advantage of the sent from feature.

However in the interim is it possible to mask the sent from when composing and sending an email from the BB i.e. 3rd party etc? Thank you again!

Your sent-from address is masked if you have BIS set up to poll one of your accounts. When you send e-mail from your BlackBerry, it will appear as having come from the polled e-mail account. If you only have your e-mail accounts set up to forward to your BIS account, any e-mail you send from your BlackBerry will appear as having come from your BIS account. That's very, very bad news since if you ever start receiving spam at that address, there's almost no way to stop it.

With the new BIS, you can at least delete and re-create your BIS address.

I don't believe this option is available in BIS 1.8. Attached are several screen-shots from the BIS 1.8 environment. I guess what I am inquiring about is this; is it possible to mask your sent from email account in BIS 1.8 either using 3rd party or manipulating this field (BIS_1.8_v2 attachement) to reflect a "blank" sent from similar to what you might have received as spam (it does not have a sent from address)?

I have a strong feeling that this is not going to be possible but still wanted to ask everyone on this forum while Cingular drags their feet for the BIS 2.0 upgrade.

Oh, I understand what you want to do now. You want to hide the sent-from address, not mask it. No, you can't hide it.
