Question help me understand the differences here please

Please Login to Remove!

If my wife sends me an email with a picture attachment I cannot view it. it just says attachment and a name but I cannot see it.

If she pins me I can get only text, but it is very fast text! perfect for a quick chat.

If me MMS sends I can get attachments then only? which ones?

So is thier a way to see attachments on regular email like jpegs, or other formats, and doc files, or spreadsheet, or other formats? sort of like desktop pc email.

Do I need to add a piece of software or can it just not be done so easily?

Have you tried calling customer service? did you try reading the manual?

how are the emails being delivered? if they're sent in rich text you won't be able to view

do you have attachment viewing installed? (look under your applications) if not run app load an install this

contact your carrier if your on BIS to make sure they have enabled your account to view attachments

hope this helps

BerDucky I do see Blackberry attachment services 4.1 on the list. It seems to allow as it has docview and image view in its modules. Not sure where to get any other apps.

I feel sorry for you headtail. This is a forum for BB users to ask and learn and enjoy. It apparently isnt special for you anymore.

Bill,

On #1 - make sure she is sending the email in TEXT format. If her email program (Outlook, I presume?) is formatting it as HTML, for some reason the attachment doesn't come through correctly.

But if she does the exact thing (composes an email, attaches a jpg picture) but changes the Message Format to PLAIN TEXT, it should work.

Let me know.

I am getting the email and yes she does have to use outlook the company IS set up. I get the text fine. any pic attachment or doc, xml, or other doesnt make it. I assumed it was me but nobody else has sent me anything with a pic or attchment so it could be her corporate thing I dont know.

I am researching so headtail will calm down.

ok! I sent myself a test message from my desktop acct (cfl.rr.com) to my BB address with a pic of my pickup trk. It arrived fine. I had to click 'get more' to get the pic but it came across fine at 93k. So it must be her email setup corporate thing I guess. Shame I cannot get or see spreadsheet files or ms docs.

I asked her and she wasnt sure how it was being sent. (she's home now) her 7520 died on the way home tonight also I think. Just weird messages on a blank screen that doesnt go away even after pulling the battery and putting it back in. I have a msg on it in the forum. bummer.

But thanks again Berducky, you are a really good guy.
