Default Removing my phone number

Please Login to Remove!

I've just replaced my BB 7750 (Verizon) with a 7250 and now I'd like to sell the thing (the 7750) or heck just give it away or put it on stand-by or something. My question is, and I'm sorry that I wasn't able to find this in the forum somewhere else, how do I get my phone number off of the phone? I've reloaded all of the software and wiped everything, and it seems like it's clean and new, except that it still displays my phone number. I'm not what you'd call "up to speed" when it comes to stuff like this so I'd be very grateful if somebody could humor me and answer me briefly weather or not this is something I can remove? And if not, is this anything to be worried about? Honestly, I have never taken the time to notice weather or not my other cell phones still displayed my number on them when they left, but now that I have noticed...

Granted I haven't used a CDMA (Verizon/Sprint) device in a while, but my hunch is that your phone number will remain programmed into the older device until the next recipient of the phone activates the phone for his/her own account.

Wirelessly posted (8700c: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

IIRC, the device will keep the old number until it is activated on a carrier again.

When it is activated again, the carrier will program that esn into the new account and set a new number.

Have you tried from the phone screen, ##000000 and send. Then when the listing opens up, replace the places where you see your phone number with all zeros. There should be several places listed there (I belive 1 at the top, and 2 at the bottom preceding the @ symbol).
