I'm hoping you can help. I'm currently using a verizon blackberry 7730. I got it from a friend. I can make voice calls but no data. I have the unlimited data plan. I talk to cs and they told me I don't have any host routing tables, and that I have to install the 4.1 software upgrade to fix the problem. This is where my problem starts. My computer can't seem to connect to my blackberry using my usb. The desktop manager or doesn't detect it. When I go into the control panel, it has a yellow esclamation point on it. I have been trying to get it working for hours. Please help me if you can.
I have a 1 yr old T-Mo 7730 which I no longer use (it's too old to do anything with it), but here's a few things to try.
1) On the BB, go to Options> Host Routing Table>Register Now. This SHOULD reset your Browser, Download Fun (or whatever Verizon calls it), and Set Up Internet Email.
2) On your PC, log into your BB account, click on Set Up Internet Email and click on Send Service Books.
3) I got a confirmation on another forum that there will never be a 4.1 OS upgrade for this model. Whoever told you to upgrade that model doesn't know what they're talking about.
Your best bet is to upgrade because you will have continuous problems with this model if it's doing this now. There's just no way you'll be able to save this phone if something worse happens. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but like I said, mine is a paperweight now because I can't do anything with it anymore.

You have multiple problems (Erica - you are missing the root of the problem)...
1) Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan (I don't care what unlimited plan you have). You must have a BlackBerry Data Plan. No substitutions allow. Without a BlackBerry Data Plan all you will have is voice and data. The top line of the 7730 must read "GPRS". Call T-Mobile.
2) This has NOTHING TO DO WITH OS 4.1. You need the BlackBerry Data Plan.
2) Uninstall Desktop Manager from your PC. There is a document on how to completely remove it on the RIM web site.

Just one question: How do you have a 7730 on Verizon? It is a GPRS device.
Thanks for the replies. To answer all questions, I put the wrong model number, it's a 7750 verizon blackberry, and yes I have the blackberry unlimited data plan which is 44.99 added to my voice plan of 39.99. I have been on with tech support 3rd level all day, trying to register my device. They finally said there's nothing they can do, I have to have my device replaced. For some reason, the device won't register with the blackberry server.
Now for my next question. Is there a yahoo messenger app that actually uses graphical smileys. I'm currently using verichat, tried, im+ and webmessenger but both of those only use text smileys, and for some reason the free yahoo messenger from the blackberry homepage won't even load.
