We run a BES 4.0 RIM server here with about 40 licenced users. Everyone on the RIM server uses Nextel as the service provider. We have someone who wants to transfer thier blackberry service from Nextel to Verizon.

Has anyone done that and if so how did the transfer go on the server side?

You can mix and match on the BES. BES doesn't care - the software is completely carrier agnostic. When the customer gets their new BlackBerry from Verizon, when they cradle it up (or you create an Enterprise Activation password for it) it will ask if they want to switch PINs. ANd away you go.

No. Verizon doesn't care.
If the BES can talk to the RIM data center, that's all you need. If it is working with Nextel, it will work with Verizon.
