Default BB History site

Any site out there devoted to the history of the BB, much like www.everymac.com for the Mac Platform? There are so many different models out there I found it confusing at first when i started looking at getting a BB.

Hmm,

That could be an interesting site to write up. I will see what I can do, just throw together on how the company got started, and when models came out.

Anyone want to help me out?

I'm willing to help out - I can do some research and such if I get a list of models, or I can help mark it up.

Sure, I was actually involved way back then with RIM during the first "BullFrog" devices...big and clunky... And I even know about the co-ceos Mike L. ( as he is known ) and Jim B.

Anyone doing history on the BlackBerries, shouldn't forget how the BlackBerry name came to be -- it was the thumb keyboard that looks like the seeds of a strawberry, but strawberry is too slow sounding, someone in a marketing agency suggested BlackBerry, which is more catchy with the fast B's and symmetry, with the B's sounding cool. Also, the early BlackBerries were fully black colored.

There's a detailed thread about how the BlackBerry name came to be, somewhere else, not sure (RIMROAD or HoFO).

Alright, I just got the domain http://www.blackberryHistory.com

It will Be a BlackBerryClub.com site dedicated to the history of the blackberry.

Now. I need people dedicated and willing to write up small sections of the site, and they will receive credit where credit is due.

Begining of RIM --
First Devices --
"BullFrog" --
850/950 --
857/957 --
5800 --
6200 --
7200 --
6700 --
6500 --
7500 --
7700 --
5700 --
7100 --
BES --

Just the basics, on when they were released, and what features they brought into the world of the blackberry

If we can come up with a std. listing of specs and features that should be listed, I'd be willing to create templates for each of them if people write up short pieces on them.

I remember when the first systems came out. at the time I was a roadwarrior for Seagate and would have loved a BB instead of the monstrosity Inspiron 7000 I had to carry around with me.

I am looking forward to seeing this. I really amazed some RIM folks the other day that didnt know how the term "BlackBerry" was derived. This will only help my knowledge.
