Default ESV Bible now available for mobile phones

Please Login to Remove!

Perhaps this could also go in Aftermarket Software, but it isn't actually something you download.

http://www.gnpcb.org/esv/mobile/

Works very nicely and includes footnotes. Of course you can't add bookmarks or other notes like you can with other downloaded Bible apps, but this is a very handy new offering for the ESV.

I have Beiks' version of that, unless that's the same thing.

Perhaps we can get Phil to add this as a 411 plugin. I use Beiks also but searches, well, they may work better on the 8700 screaming processor but with my 7290 they are very slow.

Also, thanks OP, any chance of a future KJV flavor?

The text of the ESV would be the same as your Beiks ESV. This is just a mobile device friendly web version. Not an app you download.

Wirelessly posted (VZW 7130e: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry7130e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

This site is directly from the publishers of the ESV. So there will be no KJV from them.

I hate to be nit-picky, but does anyone know of a mobile friendly version of the NAB?

what is NAB? i'm drawing a blank for some reason.
also, i wanted to add that olivetree has a decent bible reader type app for blackberry. its completely free, along w/ several of the translations, many more translations are available including foreign language bibles and a few other study tools. their blackberry app is pretty new (v.1.26), but they are looking to improve it and have a link to make suggestions and report bugs on the download page. i currently use it and have yet to find any real bugs. you can google olivetree to find their site

I've been flipping between NIV (Soapm's link) and English(WEB) http://pda.mobible.org/0/menu.htm

I use the English (web) one for searching text.

NIV is not searchable (yet?), nor has the chapter/verse numbers in text. You can get to any chapter/verse in NIV from its main menu.

Has a great set of search functions at the bottom, and there's a number of other texts on the site, many secular, some not.

And for the inclined, Luther's translation:
