i got the bb8700c a few months back and my company recently pushed down the password policy...and then i started having problems with incoming callers.

people that i have stored in my contacts arent having their names show up and i am only seeing the phone numbers of the people calling me.

is there a way to fix this...as i have been told by my IT dept that this is a limitation of the password software that is causing this (i did not have this problem for the few months prior to the password feature being pushed down)

I have seen a thread about this here somewhere. I think it hides the contact name by design if Content Protection is on (might want to seach for that) and the password is enabled.

This probably doesnt sound like the fix for you, but maybe someone could find this useful:

If all of your contacts are stored on your Sim Card, make sure you download these into your phone book permanantly.

I didnt see contacts names for a few months until someone did this for me.

If your BB is password protected, then when your phone is locked, it will not show the names along with the number. It's part of it's secturity features.

i have blackberry 7100g...i went into settings>options>security. i see an option to enable or disable password. but i dont see an option to put in your password. so my question is, if i enable it...how the heck will i get back into my phone?

Once you enable the password, you will be prompted to enter a new password.
