Excellent first release! Check out the HowardForums thread, there's a lot of compliments there (plus a minor display issue with the Month view regarding 8:00am appointments)

Thanks,

If you paid with Paypal check the e-mail account that you have associated with Paypal. They got in touch with me very quickly after PayPal payment.

Check your Bulk folder. I noticed some PayPal emails got moved there (blame those darn phishing emails for making spam filters so nervous of PayPal emails.)

tru2life,

Check your missed calls folder...Use the Mail app, select Folders from the menu then Missed Calls.

I haven't found any other good web sites for the browser yet.

Mark,
Great app. BB has needed this for a LONG time. Mark was great to work with during the beta phase. My compliments on a lot of hard work and a wonderful application.

No ways currently. The BB developer tools don't allow this.

tirsch,
is there a way to have the Unread Email line reflect both BES and BWC email counts? if I get email in to my BES address, the number changes. Anything into my BWC email does not get reflected in the count.

Also, the program written by the rustyredwagon guy starts up when you intially turn on your phone, would that at least to part of what auser wants?

thanks,
Ed

casmer,

I'm going to be working on the email count for users who are using both BES and BWC. I know what the issue is...

I could make PocketDay startup when you start the device, but I was going to try and make that an option in a later release.

sounds great. I can go for that on the startup topic. As far as the email count goes, I thought it was me as I haven't seen anyone else complain of that one. I thought maybe I had my BWC account configured incorrectly or something along those lines.

thanks!

Mark,

Is there a timer in the app to check for emails and missed calls? I have had a couple emails come in but nit be shown on the main screen?

tru2life,

There's no timer. Are you using both BES and BWC? If so, then PD is currently only looking at your default mail environment.

I'm working on a fix to this.

I've just downloaded it & I like what I see so far, but when I go to Week View, the program terminates with:

Uncaught exception: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException

Steve,

That's odd. Nobodys had that problem yet. Have you changed any of the settings (ie. # days to show in the week view)?

I haven't seen that one, but I have seen "uncaught exception: java.lang.error" when I start up the application and select "No" for allowing the application access the phone logs. A "Yes" selection works just fine, but "No" causes some issues.

I am on a 7100t with BB 4.0 OS.

@tirsch

I left the setting on the default show 7 days. Oddly I also get the same error while pressing "b" (Go Back One Day/Week/Month) from the current day's Summary View. Maybe it's my config: 7290 running the HK 4.0 firmware. I'll also try ditching BBToday in case that's interfering (although it wasn't active while I ran PocketDay).

Default Pocket Day - cool app - 02-22-2005, 07:29 PM

Downloaded the trial and just wanted to let everyone who is thinking about getting it know how useful it is. I had a few suggestions for improvement and was wondering if you were working on them:

- ability to change font size
- ability to re-order missed calls, tasks, appts, etc - basically configure screen order
- ability to not display the url for the browser (right now my weather info is "under the fold" and I have to page down)
- also when I click on Internet Browser from the home screen, then I click the clickwheel, it defauls to PocketDay when if should default to "Get Link"

I agree this should be loaded on start-up or function like a theme to potentially displace the home screen. I know you are working on that and also have some limitations, but it is a logical portal for all of your PIM data and it would be great if that could happen someday in a future release.

Thanks again - I think it was a very needed app.

pdxchick,

Thanks for the suggestions. Eventually I'll allow you to change the fonts. ON the Summary screen the fonts are fixed. On all other screens they use your default BB font, so you can vary that. The browser functionality will get better once RIM fixes some bugs they have. Hopefully the next developer release will cure some issues.

Re-ordering the main screen is on my ToDo list.

Thanks,

Mark

tirsch,
one other thing I noticed, it is not that big a deal and as usual could be user error, is that I get the "123" or "ABC" in the upper right corner of my 7100t sporadically. sometimes I can get rid of it and then at other times I cannot. it also shows up randomly. I probably shouldn't say randomly, it is going in and out of the different portions of the application, different views or going to an app from PD, but I have not payed enough attention to tell you exactly what it is.

has anyone else seen this?
thanks!

casmer,

You mean you actuall see the number '123' or letters 'ABC' in the upper right part of the screen? Does this overlay the Cell signal indicator?

Very odd, never heard of that one before.

yes. these are actually the indicators on the 7100 to let the user know they are in all numeric mode (123) or in the multi-tap alpha mode (ABC) as opposed to the standard sure type entry method. I notice the '123' come up as soon as I start the app when it is asking me for my registration number (I am still running under the trial). I am pretty sure it displays that based on what type of field the cursor is in. I am assuming your reg key is an all numeric key/field and thus it picks up on that. but then it doesn't go away after I get out of that screen. the 123 stays in the upper corner. if I push the '#' key it switches to 'ABC' as I am switching to multi-tap mode. if I go into an app that allows me to type something out, I can make that indicator disappear, but it will reappear later when moving around the application. this could just be a 7100 thing since we are the only ones with SureType (I think).

is anyone else seeing this?

casmer,

Ah, I see. I never noticed that on the simulator. The registration field is a numeric field. I'm not sure why the indicator doesn't go away though.

I did, then I uninstalled it when I started to work with this one. I did reinstall it today to do some testing and did notice the same problem.

tirsch,

great app. Thanks for staying on top of BB needs. I've got the 1.21 installed and will be purchasing in the next day or so. Once I purchase, are future upgrades included?

It's too bad that you can't get this to load on startup. I think it's a very valuable program. My only gripe is the pocket day being the first choice in the t-mobile browser. I've had to re-learn my key sequence. You know how we all hate change.

Thanks again. Great Job.

cbotd,

Load on startup seems to work on all devices except the 7100. Also, you can remove POcketDay from the menus with 1.21. Check the Utils settings. You may have to reboot after changing this setting.

Yes, future upgrades are included.
