Default Pin Reset after backup/upgrade

Please Login to Remove!

I'm using a BlackBerry 7280, which I purchased from ebay from a REPUTABLE (endorsed even) seller. With that being said.. I will move on to the problem.

After a few conversations with Data Support and several hard resets I've had no luck with this.
Previously, this phone was locked to Rogers Service. But the fellow unlocked it before he sent it to me. I got it up and running after a Update to both my Desktop Software and to the andheld it self. But after I backed up the device a few days later.. it.. happened.

It went to this Calibration like screen.. and I did what it wanted me to do.
But after it came back up.. I could not use the internet nor could I send/receive e-mails.

All the proper service books are still in place, but the only MAJOR change is the pin #. Which is now "FFFFFFFF".

I cannot find a way to change the pin back to what it was. I am using a 64K SmartChip and everything looks proper except for the changed PIN. If you guys have ANY idea what is going on, I'd appreciate any and all help with this frustrating matter.

Much like most people with Blackberrys, I run a small one-man business and customers send me e-mails and such which come to my blackberry, and without the services I pay for.. my business is in a tight spot.

Thanks in advance,
MikesTechSvcs

I saw this on an earlier post (you can do a search based on the "FFFF . . .) and I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this is what i saw:

Fried BlackBerry
Thanks for all the help guys but I just spoke with RIM and they said that all FFFFFFFF's means that my BlackBerry is fried. They said that the "all f" situation only occurs when a device has been fried with too many error messages and there is nothing that can be done about it.My BlackBerry is dead .....so sad, so sad...

I must be missing something. I just went to T-Mobile Web site, they offer 7290 for $99.99 after $200 discount, it is new device and warrantly included. All they ask is to sign for their monthly plan to get this discount.

I would say: forget eBay and go for it.

I'm curious of something-- Do they make a 'flashing' utility of some kind?
I looked on google.com, and EVERYONE makes a dang unlocking software of some kind.. but to no avail on the flashing deal.

I spoke with RIM today, and for those of you who have purchased your blackberry THROUGH your service provider.. either blackberry or the service provider should replace it, since it is consider 'inopperable'. (the words from the RIM Techie Dude)

Lemme know!

That would be the Mother Board I guess.
Since the damn PIN # of death came up and all.
bbrepairshop.com has mother boards for it.. but they're like 80 bucks for one.
Heh.. paid $100 plus shipping on this one and that doesn't make sense.
