Default Cigular WAP access on other phones with Blackberry plan

Many of you are aware of the issues with using Cingular's WAP APN on your Blackberry.

Some people are able to gain access to the WAP APN some are not. Some gain access to it via their regular Blackberry plan others have to have internet pay per use to access it.

Bottom line, no two Cingular reps. (data or not) give the same answer.

Well it seems I've come across another issue. If your plan is set up without allowing access to the WAP APN you will be unable to access the internet on ANY other device.

Let's say you want two phones. I mean after all that's one of the benefits to using GSM. You can swap phones any time you want and still carry your number where ever you go. However, if you don't have access to the WAP APN when you insert your SIM card into another phone, while the voice side will work, the data side WILL NOT (since all other Cingular phones use the WAP APN.)

It basically means those without proper access to the WAP APN can not use the internet on a second phone. Want a Razr for the weekends, at night, or just because? Well you won't be able to use the internet on it unless you find a rep. who says WAP access is included with your Blackberry plan and knows how to add it properly.

Sorry for the somewhat rant, but it's another Cingluar B.S. issue.

P.S. Before someone chimes in and says something to the effect, "I swap my SIM card into xxxx phone all the time and the internet always works" Please DON'T. That's the point, we know it works for some people. The problem is it doesn't work for everyone.
