Default Help with multiple accounts

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, before I begin I must mention that I am very newb at this - so please be nice if I dont use the correct terms etc..

Myself and another guy here work on the IT helpdesk. All email requests are sent to the same email account which we both have access to. We have our own seperate email accounts, but have permissionsto see the inbox of the helpdesk account.

We both have these flash new 8700's and the idea was that we would both be able to read emails sent to the helpdesk mailbox, although we have been told that this is not possible. Is there a way around this to make it possible.

We are using Exchange server 2003, Blackberry Enterprise Server 4.0, Office Outlook 2003, Telstra SIM's.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wirelessly posted (VZW 7130e: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry7130e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

Set up a rule in Outlook or the server to have e-mails sent to the helpdesk address forwarded to both of your individual e-mail addresses. Or to your BB addresses. If you do that, be sure to keep a copy on tbe server for later reference and tracking.

ah, yes that would work although the point of having the ithelpdesk account is so that it is a single reference point for all emails to go to. If I want to answer an email then I pull it out of the helpdesk mailbox and into my own account. This way the other guy knows that it is mine and he doesnt have to touch it.

Although with this setup I can see there being some confusion as to who has what job as we will both be getting a copy of the original email, and both possibly answering the same email.

Does this make sense or did I misunderstand what you were saying?

He was giving you a work-around because what you are asking for is not possible.

A big problem is that there isn't a good way to move email from one Excahnge mailbox to another via the Blackberry. The forwarding workaround is the closest you'll get AFAIK.
