If I downgrade my plan's minutes will that automatically extend my contract?

My contract is up in July, so I want to be free, but I don't need as many minutes now.

It will not extend your contract if you go to a non promotional plan.

I don't think it should, you can always call 611 and talk to a TMo Rep, they'd know for sure.
