Default Interesting Question: Yahoo emails to Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

Hi. I posted a question last week on the forum but got mixed answers, so I thought Iíd post this again.

Iím getting a blackberry next week (7290) and I basically want to check yahoo email on my blackberry.

However, as with many yahoo users, I have 2 gigabyte of storage and about 200 megabytes of emails just sitting in my Inbox at Yahoo!

Whatís the best way to set up reading yahoo emails on my blackberry.

Is it forwarding? Is it POP Mail?

My concern is that my entire inbox will be downloaded on my blackberry which is what I donít want to occur. I simply want to get new emails sent to my blackberry yet stay at my yahoo inbox as well.

Any advice? Anyone out there push yahoo to blackberry?
Thanks!

Just set up your Yahoo account in BIS and you will begin to get new email pushed to your BB... you won't have your old mail pushed all at once, that email will stay in your Yahoo account.

That's what I've thought for two years now. My yahoo email was the only one I still had to go on the computer to check. I read another thread last week on this topic where people said they could get their yahoo emails even though they had a basic account. Sure enough, I connected my yahoo basic account with Tmobile BIS using polling and it works fine. My new emails get sent to my BB but my SPAM folder doesn't get sent, I like that.

with BIS 2.0 you don't need mail +
with BIS 1.8 you do

either one will only send new email to your handheld
i'd say use POP since Yahoo! forwarding doesn't leave a copy in Yahoo! (90% sure on that)

I use Yahoo! POP3 fowarding through the premium account. When I set up my blackberry to receive my yahoo mail (through the e-mail settings icon on the BB), it started sending my new emails only. Didn't send any of my old stuff already in my inbox. Also, it doesn't send my spam mail either (although i suppose you could configure it to send everything if you wanted). Nice thing also is that with the yahoo account, you can choose to delete mail off the BB only or both the BB and yahoo account.

I have t-mobile and all I did was add my yahoo account through the email setup on the blackberry (or you can go to the website and add it there) and once setup, it will retrieve your emails from the Yahoo Inbox from that point forward. It doesn't bring in any emails you already had in your mailbox. You have the option to also delete any yahoo emails your receive on the BB from just the handheld or both the handheld and from the Yahoo inbox, which I find handy.

The only problem I have run across is that sometimes when you reply to the yahoo emails from the BB they get sent as blank emails to the recipient even though you typed a reply, haven't really figured out when or why it does that.
