Default Massive Charges due to VPN change

Can some advise me on this. We purchased 4 new Blackberry 7100v phones from Vodafone Espana, each with GPRS included within monthly cost. We however added IM+ and paid 42 for each phone to have this software.

After only ONE WEEK, our Vodafone bill has gone to 1,800 and we have been told that due to changing our VPN details, we have been charged 60 cents for every 10 minutes that each phone has been switched on.

We cannot understand why this is and feel that we should have been made aware that changing the VPN matters. Equally it appears to say nothing about this on the IM+ site.

Can anyone shed some light on this and let me know if we have any kind of argument with Vodafone. We discussed this with ther Shop Assistant as it was important that we had MSN, that was actually the whole reason for having these Blackberrys in the first place.

Please help as we feel really let down.
