Delays are back again. RIM tech support just keeps resending the service books, does a few <confirm> messages and say the problem has been resolved.

I have been experiencing this for more than 3 weeks now. Never know when its happening and its very erratic. At this point, I have no real confidence in real-time email delivery.

If this continues, I plan on writing the CEO of RIM and Verizon Wireless. They have to get this resolved once and for all. If not, I expect some compensation on my monthly bill.

Anyone else feel the same way?

I was experiencing a similar problem with delayed email after upgrading to 2.0. I found out for some reason it suddenly started sending and recieving only from my pop address and not the blackberry address (regardless of what folder I sent or replied from). Because of this, everything was delayed 15 minutes and not instant like the blackberry address. After sevelal phone calls, no one had a clue. In fact one representative told me that's what it's supposed to do. Finally, I was able to fix it by simply deleting the pop address completely from the BIS and then reinput the address back in. It instantly started working correctly. For some reason the new upgrade didn't have the blackberry address as the "main" address.

As I mentioned in the Cingular thread, I called RIM again on my case that's been open since 6/12/06. It is only affecting emails sent to my vzw.blackberry.net address. Polled POP/IMAP accounts work fine. When they test with <confirm> they see the delays. So they push it off to engineering.

Round and round we go... when its fixed, no one knows!

They did not tell you? You must delete your blackberry email address and create it again. That will fix it, 9 times out of 10.

Did that at least 5 times now. Works for a while but does not fix the problem.

I omitted one important part: you must create blackberry email address with different name. That works much better. Surely, it only useful for people who just do email forwarding and don't mind changing their blackberry email address.

Thanks, but that makes no sense. RIM has a problem and they need to get it resolved. Changing the username for the blackberry.net address does not change the BIS configuration. They know there's a problem with the BIS but can't get their fingers on it.

Actually, I did exactly that 3 weeks ago. In fact, I had Verizon delete my entire BIS account and recreated it with a different blackberry.net address. I'm using that address since 3 weeks ago and I still have delays during the mid-day hours on weekdays. Even RIM said it should not matter what the blackberry.net username is for the address. On this past Friday their tests were delayed by 2-3 hours so they know its a problem.

Thanks anyway.

BerryOne, whsbuss is right.
The delays on cingular are noticeable during mid-day hours. (For BIS 2.0 users). Eventhough I would love to "upgrade" to 2.0; just for the reply from address change capabilities, I will stay at 1.8 until they fix this. Remember, I've gone back and forth between 1.8 and 2.0 and I always end up going back to 1.8 just because of the email delivery delays. And yes, I have tried the change address method a few days ago, it did not make a difference.:(
