Default Email Delays Sending to vzw.blackberry.net

Please Login to Remove!

Is anyone noticing big delays/missed messages sent to vzw.blackberry.net? I checked my mail server (which forwards some of my email accounts) and I see the successful sent to the RIM network, but I haven't had anything delivered to my 7130e.

Accounts configured in the BIS 2.0 work fine.

I am seeing delays on sprint. Thought it was just my phone since I just switched to the 7130e. I feel better now that other people are having problems.

Must be a RIM problem. I just got an email that was forwarded from my Gmail account on my BB. However I just logged into Gmail and sent a message to the BB and it did not arrive.

I am having the same problem. A message sent to my Gmail account at 9:40 a.m. finally got to my vzw.blackberry.net account at 4 p.m....I sent a new service book at 4:20, but it doesn't seem to be doing any good after several test messages.

I resent all my service books as well, but to no avail. What's strange is my accounts configured in the BIS (both POP and IMAP) are working fine. If it doesn't improve later I'll post a call with Verizon's data tech support.

OK, here's the deal.

I called VZW data tech support and the tech verified all was well in the admin BIS. But I still could not receive email to the vzw.blackberry.net address. He deleted the BIS account and I recreated it. However I could not get my userID again for the BB address. So I created a temporary new one and emails started flowing again.

Seems the BB address got corrupted. In any case, they could not release my original userID and RIM support was gone for the evening. I have to call RIM support tomorrow and ask them to release the userID so I can create it again in the BIS.

What a pain. Only positive thing is the POP and IMAP accounts in the BIS work just fine. I post the final outcome tomorrow.

Default Delays Again

I am noticing delays again today when sending to the vzw.blackberry.net address. I have at least 3 messages sent an hour ago that have not been delivered to the BB. Yet I did receive another one in real-time since.

This is really getting to be a pain in the (you know what). I know that when I tested from one of my on-site servers, the SMTP logs shows the message was handed off successfully by the bis.blackberry.com SMTP server. BIS accounts work fine.

Is anyone else noticing this?

I am seeing this as well today. Seems account specific since some of the other Verizon BB users around here aren't having the same issue with the BIS.

Default Working here (Verizon Atlanta..me anyways..)

I just sent an email from my Gmail account directly to my BB handheld address and it was there in a few seconds.

I just switched back to the BB from the xv6700 and man am I happy I did.

The weird thing is that I switched from the BB cause my old 7250 would not work on EVDO and no one at VZW could get it too. Now with my new BB 7250, I get a EVDO signal all over the place.

Default Update

This problem is now escalated within RIM. They sent 10 test messages with BB confirmation. So far (2.5 hours later) only 7 of the 10 messages have been received. Most have been delayed by up to 2 hours.

Its definately a RIM network issue. They told me they are very interested in the problem which leaves me to believe others have complained. I'll give a status when its resolved.

This has just started happening to me with Sprint on BIS 2.0. The interesting part is that my POP account through BIS is working fine. The problem is that anything sent to my sprint.blackberry.net address is not being forwarded to my Blackberry.

Default Another Update

Well the problem is still there at RIM's network. My RIM case is still opened (7 days now) and the latest update from them is they are still investigating. They did tell me many users are experiencing the same problems regardless of carrier. I'm starting to suspect a problem with the BIS 2.0 implemention regarding the blackberry address only. Other configured accounts poll just fine.

I sure hope they get this resolved soon. Whatever details I get I'll post here.

I have been npticing it for the past few days, but it has gotten worse today. I called Verizon and they claim everything is fine at their end but that they would try to escalate it to RIM. Sounded like a hose job, and that they are aware that there are issues, just may not be sure of what they are or how to correct them.

This is very strange. Some emails sent to my sprint.blackberry.net address are being delivered promptly, while others are taking hours.

I use a Gmail account for my personal email and I used to have it forwarded to my sprint.blackberry.net address. I've configured my Gmail account so that Blackberry will query it via POP and that seems to be working fine. Of course, the forwarding is not in real time, but it's a good-enough alternative, at least for now.

These are the exact same symptoms I was experiencing. Call Sprint and have them escalate to RIM.

Final Update
I just got an email from Blackberry Support stating they resolved my problem. So far today, my vzw.blackberry.net address is delivering to the BB without delay. They did not give any explaination of what they found, so I'm a bit skeptical and will watch it over the next few days.

I had this issue last week. It is on the RIM side. It has to do with the 7130's. For some reason, these phones are having a hard time commuincation with their servers. I was down for 6 days then back up. I have been fine now for 5 days now.
