I logged into my BB BIS (VZW) account at blackberry.com today because I had not been there in so long. When I logged in, they asked if I wanted to use the new version (2.0 I believe). I accepted. Undoubtedly it works a lot different like managing everything more cleanly from the handheld itself. I was able to send some emails to myself initially, but all of a sudden my filters in MessageAlerts stopped working. I tried to re-send the service books (from the BIS site) and it did nothing. Now, I have no data access. I am not receiving emails of any type and cannot access anything via the BB browser. I may have a couple of problems going here. I tried to reboot and re-send the service books, but neither helped. Can/Should I delete some of the service books and re-send them from the BIS site?

I was also surprised to read on the BIS site about the mail connector that basically functions like the Redirector.

Basically, the new BIS does not support web access to message. Check under the Blackberry Network forum for detailed discussions on the differences.

Resending service books can not break blackberry ability to send and receive emails, and can not stop web browsing.

What else have you done with your blackberry?

FYI - you'll need to set your filters back up for each individual address.

I deleted the service book and re-sent them from the web site. My email started working again (could have been a VZW problem, too). My MessageAlerts problem was resolved by taking the battery out and putting it back in (a soft reset wouldn't fix it). Everything is back to normal now and nothing else had changed on the BB.
