There's no real backup of DATA done. Data in the Address Book, Tasks, and Memo Pad are all in Outlook. Most settings are also backed up, but some are not, particularly if they point to something that's not there (custom ring tone, Theme, etc.). Some data - Photos and contacts in Blackberry Messenger - are not either.

In fact, there's nothing you can do with Photos other than set them as your background or send them to other Blackberry Messenger users. Desktop Manager will back up Blackberry Messenger contacts, but not Photos.

Email is a whole other story. I THINK - not positive - that Saved messages will be restored, but not necessarily any attachments. MAYBE if they were opened before the message was saved, but definitely NOT if they were never opened. As for the rest of of the email formerly on the BB, the BES keeps track of what emails have already been sent to the Blackberry, so if you wipe and do an Enterprise Activation, almost everything will come back, but NOT emails already sent to the BB with the exception of Saved Messages. The only way around that is to wipe the BB, remove the BES account, re-establish the BES account, and then Activate. The problem with that is you loose everything else (maybe a real BES Admin knows a way around that???).

One other thing. The LATEST version of Desktop Manger (4.1.1.???) SAYS will back up Applications installed wirelessly. I haven't tried this, and don't know if it backs up the associated data as well OR how it knows that the app was installed wirelessly for that matter.
