Default Problems with BIS

Please Login to Remove!

I have my BES email working fine. Now I am trying to integrate a couple of other email addresses using BIS. I'm signed up (Verizon) and successfully added an email address. I'm having trouble getting the email to be pushed to my BB though. If I turn off receiving emails to that account on my computer, I get them on my handheld - if I receive them on my computer, they do not go to the BB. I tried changing the flag to leave messages on the server - that didn't work. What am I missing here?

Thanks

Yes - I did, and that didn't seem to matter. The only time it works is if I don't receive email at all in Outlook. How does this service work? Does it query my email server every XX minutes and push the mail to my BB? How would it wirelessly reconcile things then?

Also, I assume with BES that I don't have to have any Desktop software installed - correct? The BES takes care of that?

Thanks

sounds like soumething is removing them from the server then...
BIS connects to your server every 15 mins and grabs new emails

with BIS 1.8 reconcile only goes to your BIS inbox. w/ BIS 2.0 there's some differneces as there is no longer an inbox so...

IMAP will reconcile read/unread status; sent itemss and deleted as will Exchange (and Domino w/ mail connector)

Thanks -
Isn't there anywhere with more extensive documentation on BIS? Like how often it connects to my mail server? Can I change that interval? Even when it is getting mail from my server (i.e. I'm not picking up on my computer as well) - it doesn't seem to be wirelessly reconciling between my handheld and computer.

I'm frustrated - what BB is supposed to do well is email. The BES mostly works right (still not reconciling when I delete mails on my computer) and I can't seem to get any reconciling, or any real email functionality actually, for my other accounts.

polling occurs every 15 mins
no way to change this

unless you have BIS 2.0 the wireless reconcile options will go to your computer - depending on how you have the account added to your BlackBerry
