Question APN question

Please Login to Remove!

I have a question about the APN setting. I just bought an 8700c and have cingular unlimited data service. I also have a hosted BES via EMM. When I look at the APN setting under TCP in the options, the APN and APN username are blank. Should there be wap.cingular here? What role does the APN play? I am sorry if this question has been answered before. I did a search, but could not find an answer. Thanks in advance for any help.
