Default Pin?

This may sound like a redicuous question, but..., what exactly is a PIN? I realize it's a sort of a "indentification" number for a BB, but how do you get a PIN and how are they assigned? Does your mobile provider give you one or is each BB assigned one when they are made and are moved across networks?

I'm planning on buying a BB on eBay and I was just wondering how this works before making a purchase.

PS. I did a search but couldn't find my answer. You can just imagine how many times "PIN" has been said in just normal conversation.

EDIT: I just realized I put this in the wrong forum. Can a mod please move it to General BB Discussion?

A PIN is a hard coded identification number specific to each BlackBerry device. You don't choose one, you get what you get with your specific BlackBerry. You get a different BlackBerry, you get a different PIN.

Remember, please try searching first!

Need a screenshot? ... Like JavaLoader?
Try using BBscreen .....Use JL_Cmder!
or BBScreenShooter!

Like Fisher said, you Blackberry comes with it own unique PIN that is hardwired into the device and can not be changed.
