Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700c: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

1st off, do you have a BB data plan?

If you do, then check to make sure it didn't get hidden accidently. On the home screen, hit ALT then click the trackwheel and click show all.

If that doesn't do the trick, go to Options>Advanced Options>Host Routing Table. Click the trackwheel and select register now. This should bring back your browser icons.

If that doesn't work, then your only option left is to take the battery out for about 1 minit then reinsert it.

Hope this helps

I'm in the same situation after s/w reinstall as kaibosh, except 8700v with Voda UK.

Have checked icon list, rebooted, refreshed Host Routing Table, requested browser service book from my BIS account.

Only visible browser is the Voda one with the Services icon.

Any further ideas appreciated. TIA.

Further call to Voda CS resolved the problem: Settings / Advanced options / Host Routing Table then click the most recent HRT and click Register Now.

Done.

Hey everyone, i am experiencing the same thing as described here.

I have no browser icons. I dont really know when they disappeared, sometime yesterday i think.

I also noticed yesterday that i had yahoo messenger and google messenger installed on my machine without requesting it. I hid the yahoo and kept google, but now neither is visible.

i alt wheel clicked to show all icons, and only "enterprise activation" came back.

I tried taking the battery out for 5 min, sending service books, and requesting registration, but it didnt work either.

I am on the ROGERS network running an unlocked 8700c which has been perfect since day 1. (yes, 8700c cingular device).

I get an error on boot up: uncaught exception java.lang.illegalstateexception

thanks in advance
