Default Loading Software

.alx and .ali seem to be the only option through the application loader on my Blackberry 8700G. Is there any way to load applications? I would prefer to be able to copy new files to my blackberry folders as needed.

Specifically, I am trying to load the jabplite program from the bottom of this page here. From what I can surmise, the Blackberry 8700G is an MIDP2 device. Of' course the programmer makes no attempt at letting you know this.

I've chosen the first two options here and now the MIDP2 option to no avail even though the product is said to work with the Blackberry.

Can someone shed some light on the subject?

You can also install apps OTS (over the air) if available for the particular application. You can not copy files directly to or from the BlackBerry. The closest thing would be to use JavaLoader, which is a developer tool. You can use it to copy install .cod files directly to the BlackBerry via the USB cable.

The link you have provided, points to at .jar file. I am not that familiar with the Blackberry Java file descriptions, but I believe that .jar files relate to programs to be downloaded OTA. Someone correct me if I am wrong. You might want to research this, or ask in the Aftermarket S/W forum how to convert a .jar file to a .cod and a .alx file for installing using app loader. Or you might just try to install it OTA directly.

Hope this helps
