Default Programmatically send/receive SMS from/to PC

Hi everyone

If a Blackberry 7100 is connected via USB to a PC running either Windows or Linux, is there a way on the PC to programmatically retrieve the SMS messages from the phone, and programmatically send SMS messages through the phone? I'd like to be able to SMS this phone a message that is processed (database lookup etc) and send a message back e.g. I SMS to 212-789-1234 amazon dvd bloodrayne and get a response back TWO STARS

Thank you for any help or advice!
