Default deleting messages

Hello

when users delete mail from their outlook cliient it does delete the message from the blackberry but........

One of our users has created a outlook PST file and moved mail from the primary inbox to the PST. This does not remove the mail from the blackberry. Is this correct? Why does the blackberry assume that the mail is still in the Inbox?

Cheers

If you move a message to any place unknown to the BES server, it will just not mess with it. If you sync multiple folders from Exchange to BES/Blackberry and move a message to one of those folders, the BES will know where the message went to, and move it on your Berry also, otherwise it leaves it alone. It knows the Trash folder, so when you delete, it knows to remove it from the Berry.

"Orphaned" messages will be removed based on the "Keep Messages" setting under General Options. If you keep messages "Forever", they will go away when the Blackberry decides it needs the room based on age.

While you can also sync to a PST, it's not very advisable unless you leave the Redirector/Desktop Manager running on the machine that has the PST, but I can't say what happens on the Blackberry as I've never done it in over six years of using Blackberries.
