Brian,

I also have a similar set up. What I did was input all of the email addresses that I forward to my bb email address into the BIS 2.0, then use the filters to stop the system from sending mail. I set the filter to "Do not forward messages to handheld", this way I do not get double messages on my device (which I was from certain accounts). With this setup, I get my mail instantly plus have the functionality to use the PD Reply as New and Forward using options.

Hope that helps.

If you use the PD Reply as New then were would the email sent be stored for viewing? The email sent wonxxx8217;t be in either the Sent or the Inbox in Gmail of the address you used?

How would you keep a copy of it? Or is that not possible?

((EDIT)) Aah, I figured it out.

Just installled this. Discovered both a strange bug and also a great new use.

First the bug: when you reply, the To field in the Original Message that you are replying to is blank. Not a biggie but it makes the reply look kind of wierd. You could type in the name(s)...

Now the great new use for this app: In another thread I noted that you cannot forward replies (or any Sent email) on BIS 2.0. As was pointed out to me, this bug is acknowledged by RIM. With Reply as new, you can Reply as New on your own email and Click to Change Address on the To field. If you want, you can also change the "Re" to "Fw". Again the fact that the To field in the Original Message is blank is the one thing that lessens the attraction of this use but it is still a potentially handy work-around to the issue.

Finally downloaded the utility and I like it....but a couple of things.

When I do the reply as, I notice it swaps the To and From names in the original message. This happening to others too? Any fix coming or do I have an old version?

Also, is it possible to flag emails through the blackberry.net address in a special way so I remember to use the reply as instead of the reply?

Thanks!

Is there a way to incorporate Reply As New into PDP instead of only through the Messages folder? Is there not an option for RAN when viewing emails in PDP?

7130c. Installed with dummy icon on Home screen, but do not see any PD option when I open up Menu while reading emails sent to me. Nothing. Just Reply, Forward, Reply To All and the usual options. Latest 1.1 also gives me unexpected java.lang error popups (which do not appear at all when PD is removed - verified through multiple installs/reinstalls). Anyone have luck with this app and the 7130c?

7130x users have no choice but to wait patiently for a supported release.

There is a Reply-To feature meant to serve the same purpose, but the feature does not work with BIS 2.0 as you cannot leave a blank Reply-To for the BlackBerry Address. It appears that support for both the 7130c and 7130e are broken. Any word on when a supported release it to made available?

PD Support here...we don't have a 7130 device yet, but can someone please explain exactly what's not working? Also, what OS version does the 7130 have?

The 7130c is the most recent Blackberry device publicly released. The latest Cingular OS as of 2006-08-03 is:

Package Version: 4.1.0.401
Applications: 4.1.0.321
Software Platform: 2.1.0.26

RAN installs sucessfully with dummy icon on Home screen. But there is no RAN option when opening Menu while reading received emails. Nothing. Just Reply, Forward, Reply To All and the usual options. Verified with multiple 7130c devices and a most recently, a 7130e device.

I'm confused. I have a 7130c on tmobile, and I have pdp installed. There is a reply to: settings in the settings where you can enter your desired email addresses that you want to have replies sent from/to (I think).
When I open any email, original, forwarded, or replied from, I do not get a reply as new option, but I do get various set reply as:email account name to choose from. This feature works fine, if I open the email and click reply then I get the option to reply as. If I'm reading what adamlau is saying, I'm supposed to get the reply as: feature as soon as I open the email and not after having to click reply first? Btw, the usual options are shown just as adamlau said when you open the emails.

There is supposed to be a Reply As New option. As for the PDP Reply-To feature, it does not work with BIS 2.0 or 2.1 as there is no way to leave the Reply To: field blank in either BIS 2.0 or BIS 2.1.

I understand about the lack of reply as new in PDP. If the reply as: feature doesn't work on BIS 2.0/2.1, then is this a bug that needs to be corrected? Will there be an update to get this working in PDP?
