Is there a way to assign a key to hide the browser ? I have the 8700g and it is great for browsing, however if I need to look at email or place a call from the address book, it would be nice, with a single key-stroke to go to the "Home page" or hide the browser.
Right now, the way I do this is either:
-- trackwheel click-> scroll to bottom -> click on Hide, or:
-- ALT + ESC (to bring open app menu) -> trackwheel scroll to Home
Both are too cumbersome. Would be nice to be able to use the left button. While it can be programmed, there is no way (I know) to make it go to the Home page or the make it hide the current app.
BTW that key will always bring you to the home page
That causes you to loose the page you are viewing. I believe the poster was looking for a way to do this and still have the ability to open the browser again and be at the same page as when he left it.

I guess you are right, you only lose it when you open the other Browser, it resets the original.
Lesson learned, I thought that was what the "hide" was for.

To summarize and get verification with BBs with the Phone and End buttons;
When in the browser (and almost any app)
pressing the Green Phone quickly will take you to the phone app initiate call screen,
Pressing the Green Phone and holding slightly will take you to the Phone App Dial by name search feature,
Pressing the Red End will take you to the Home Screen.
All of this without closing the open app, and you can returen using the ALT+Esc combo.
while you are in your broswer, press the "d" button..this put the browser in the background so you access anything else. The you can return to your broser with the icon and still be on the same page that you left it on.

Also worth mentioning that alt-escape, without holding alt, will return you to the most recently used application. So it can dump you directly back into your browser (same as Alt-Tab in Windows) after you're done on 'place call' screen.
