there are 2 prices:

Blackberry Personal Plan - Unlimited - $34.99

Blackberry Unlimited - $49.99


right now our company pays $44.99 for BlackBerry unlimited since we have a voiceplan from cingular. they deducted $5 from the $49.99 plan. we dont have a bes (blackberry server), we just use either the blackbery desktop redirector or bis for each user to get company email.

my question is, do we still need blackberry unlimited plan or can we switch to the cheaper blackberry personal plan? so anyone know? thx in advance.

The plan you want to ask for has a code. The code is BIA1 ( they call it an SOC code).

Call Cingular and ask them to switch you to that plan. It is $29.99, the $34.99 is if you have no voice plan.

I do not know what you qualify for as you are a company but call and ask- that is the new price for BIS users with a voice plan.

By the way, I know it does not say it on the website. Just call the sales dept. and talk to them, the plan is available as I have it. I just cannot confirm if you qualify because I do not know the rules of the plan. I am just a single user on BIS with a voice plan.

so the $29.99 plan will work the same as the $44.99 plan? we will still able to get corporate email?

Pricing is not available if you are on BES, it is for BIS customers only.

Did you read my post? I said call Cingular...they are the only ones who can give you true costs. You say you got a special deal before, how does anyone on this forum know what your deal will be.

Call cingular, tell them you know the new plan is available and you want it. They will not know about it- give them the code I put in my post.

You could be done with this by now, call Cingular, any info on here is just conjecture.

just call cingular...was able get the reduce price it since we only have like 2 account with them and not like hundreds of accts like big company...so we were able to get the reduction.

the funny thing is they want charge us the $44.99 plan even though we dont have bes. she said as long as it is a corporate business acct...then the $44.99 apply. but since we dont have hundreds of acct...and only 2..she was able to give us the cheaper one.

So does that mean using a Hosted Exchange service qualifies you for the $29.99 plan?

I'm still not sure anyone's tried that.

Larry, He doesnt have a bes though, even though we're indepent users with third party hosting, I think we automatically get lumped into that corprate deal.... I need to call and talk to someone about this. I've only got two blackberry's on my count, both with bes, a little social engineering just might work.

I haven't seen anyone verify that they confirmed with Cingular that doing a Enterprise Activation automatically throws you into the higher rate plan.

Well, I spend most of my day on a phone, so getting on a phone and holding isnt exactly my most favorite thing to do in the afternoon. When I want to take care of something I usually start the call process before I get into traffic, and 9/10 I can put the headset on and lsiten to the radio until someone picks up. I guess, because I'm a nice guy and you are a fellow 7130 user I can make the call today while I'm sitting in traffic. It looks like its going to rain on the evenign commute so perfect time for waiting on hold. Now what can we do about getting my review moved to the review forum j/j.

I think what yuo experienced was good ol' Cingular customer service. Typically BES is recommended for "corporate email" in marketing material. I'm guessing that she took "corporate email" too literally.

If you're not using a BES to receive your company's email then you don't need the higher priced data plan. The system can't magically distinguish business from personal email... In cases like this, call back until you get a rep that knows better.
