Problems with New Outgoing Email
 
Just wondering if you guys would be able to help me on this little problem..

We have a new Blackberry 7130 that can reply to email, and receive email, but when it comes to sending new outgoing messages we get this..

It's been doing this since the customer purchased it.. He recieves this when he attempts to send out new messages..

are you using a BES or BIS?

If you are on BIS you probably chose the BES option when loading the desktop manager. Run the DM again a chose the one for the internet.

If you are not on BES, I'd ask the customer if they started an Enterprise Activation. Starting EA incorrectly can cause these messages. Also, if the customer is running Desktop Redirector and the redirector program is down, these messages will appear.

The customer isn't running Enterprise, so the Activation should have just timed out without causing residual effects on the phone..

Would a uninstall and reinstall of the Desktop Redirector possibly fix the problem.. I have a pretty good feeling, he just has his BB downloading his email directly from the server, without using the redirector.. Just the webclient setup..

as well have them remove any desktop service books from the BlackBerry

would a reset work to remove the service books, or would you need to push a new service book out to the client?

You'll find the service books in Options->Applications then Message Services.
