Hi..I"m on the fence in getting a Blackberry. I'm about to buy the tmobile blackberry 7290. I want to use the blackberry for email, sometimes for web browsing, and also checking my Yahoo email on my blackberry.
Is it easy to check yahoo email on blackberry? how would i set it up?
It seems like there are good prices out there for 7290s and data only plans (which is what i want) so i'm happy about that.
Yes you can configure a BIS account to "PUSH" your Yahoo account on TMO. After that you Yahoo mail will look like any other email on the blackberry in your inbox. Search for how to setup yahoo on TMO BIS ... Should pop up within the 1st 5 hits.
If youa re going to make the investment and do any amount of web surfung go with the 8700 fast and better device (In my option).
Yes, the 7290 is terrible for web surfing. Not only is the included browser pretty basic (pretty much text only, with minimal graphics, and most scripted sites won't work) so know that going in. Also the 7290 is limited to GPRS speeds which is akin to 56k dial-up. The EDGE speeds on the 8700 ae much better (more akin to ISDN or pretty slow DSL, but usable).
You should consider investing the extra funds into an 8700. Not to say the 7290 is a bad device, but once you start using a BB you will wish you had the latest & greatest.
