I have a Tmobile 7100t that I have been using at home and at a previous job. In my new job I've been given a Cingular 7290. I tried to sync it with Outlook at home today (I have the Outlook 2007 Beta 2 installed). First it asks me if I want to change the BB linked to the email account. I click yes and then the problem starts. I always get an error message saying "No Outlook or MS Exchange Folders appear to be configured". If I try to ue my original 7100t I have no problem, it syncs fine. Only when I try to use the 7290 from work.

Do I need to reinstall Outlook? Any suggestions as to what I can do?

Desktop manager is version 4.0.1.12. The 7290 has ver 4.00.219.

Is your copy of outlook at home configured to access the MS Exchange server at work? It sounds like it isn't (but this shouldn't be a problem, I'm jsut trying to understand your setup).

Do you have a BES server at work? Do you have a copy of desktop manager on a PC at work? What I'm thinking you need to do is reconfigure your work provided BB back to how it was when they gave it to you. This requires new service books from the BES server. Depending on your work setup you can do this one of two ways. Do the enterprise activation again (if you are on BES 4.0 and your BES admin uses this) or plug the BB back into the work PC with desktop manager, double-click on REDIRECTOR SETTINGS, SECURITY tab, click RADIO button GENERATE KEYS MANUALLY, then click Apply and OK. It should prompt you to provide random mouse movement to generate the seed for the new encryption key. Desktop Manager may even prompt to generate a new encyption key (BES service books) as soon as you plug in to BB - it will probably detect that something doesn't match.

In the future, you can use Desktop Manager (Intellisync) to sync anything that isn't wirelessly synced at work (address book, tasks, and maybe calendar). When prompted to use the new PIN (at home when the work BB is plugged in) for the love of god don't click Yes.

I use Outlook at home and Lotus Notes at work. What I want is to be able to sync at work with otes and with Outlook at home.

Right now I can sync at work without problems. Both email and Calendar are set to sync wirelessly at work. But when I try to sync with Outlook at home I get the error message I described.

Gabe, if I'm following along correctly, I believe that since you are syncing wirelessly at work with the new 7290, you will not be able to sync with any PIM at home.

I personally have yet to see anyone sync wirelessly at work and also sync at home. I use desktop manager at work with the BIS option so that I can sync in both places with no probs.

I hope Aroc's suggestion will help you. Would love to hear if it works.

Oh, i've your sync'ing address book, calendar, etc via wireless, then you are stuck with just wireless. You won't be able to do what you want (sync with two computers).

you best bet is to put your contacts into your Lotus Notes at work, then configure your outlook client at home to connect to your Notes server (domino) at work. It's not optimal, but that is my recommendation.
