Exclamation Problem with EDGE service.

Please Login to Remove!

I just moved to a rural area that has strong GSM service (so normal cell phones work fine), and my Blackberry is suffering. It seems that my blackberry switches from EDGE to GPRS depending on signal strength between the two, i.e. when EDGE runs out of service it switches to GPRS.

My problem is it won’t switch to GPRS unless EDGE has complete signal failure, when this complete signal failure occurs it switches to a full strength of GPRS. I would like to be able switch from EDGE to GPRS manually, or set GPRS as the default and when that signal fails it will switch to EDGE.

The thing that is freaking me out is I have to borrow my wife’s Razor to make a call when my blackberry is on the fritz on EDGE.

Also, do you have any other signal strengthening ideas?

Sorry, I thought I had to elaborate and change the forum.
