Default Delivery confirmation for messages

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I picked up this tip from the IBBUG website:

Quote:
Get a delivery confirmation when sending a message
Category: Handheld Device

If you like to know that your message has been delivered to the other person's BlackBerry, type < confirm > in the subject line, and you will get a confirmation message when the message is delivered to the other person's BlackBerry.

Like this:SUBJECT: has been delivered to the recipient's BlackBerry Handheld.
Now, I have tried to get this working, but without success...has any one of you tried this and had success with it? Did this delivery confirmation also work with PIN messages?

Cheers,

Masud 8)

PIN messages confirm delivery. You get a "D" above the check mark when delivered.

confirm tag is shown with spaces in that post, it should not have spaces.

I just tried this too and can't get it working. Sure would be nice if it did. That was one of the biggest "features" of my old RIM 950 model. You always knew when another 950 user received and then read your page. Tried putting <confirm> before the subject, after the subject and with no subject. No luck.

I was able to get a confirmation message following the <confirm> prototcol.

We use the BES here, if that makes a difference

As kelvin says, it does work when on a BES. Send a message to a handheld from either another handheld or an email account with the <confirm> at the begnining of the subject (yes, it may work in other ways, but it definitely works this way).

Once the message is delivered, a confirmation is sent to the originating email account Inbox which then forwards the message to the sending handheld (if so configured).

If you use a BES, have no typos in the subject, and have no rule forcing it out of your Inbox upon receipt, the confirmation message should be forwarded every time.

When composing a note or message, press the "SYM" key. Then find the < (or whatever special character you want) and select it.

Must you be on BES or will it work on BWC and

only to other BB's or to any mailbox?
