Angry battery drained shutting down

Please Login to Remove!

My 7290 has been throwing errors but they were intially resolved w/ a soft reset. Then BB showed: "batterty drained...shutting down", but after charging - it would throw an error again, require a hard reset and a full battery charge. CingularBB support recommended upgrading the software, which i did. Still errors, my last effort is a new battery but it wont charge at all!

Any suggestions, i am going to try my husbands sim card and see it makes any difference.

A full wipe and reinstall (as opposed to an upgrade) may be in order...

You might also have a charging problem which could include the battery, internal circuitry or the charger.

adamlau - i did a complete wipe (i think) by following the instructions on BB.com...something like: desktop manager, application loader, erase. This seems to have helped the charging issue. Now when i try to make a phone call it either times out while waiting for the radio or just shuts down w/o warning. Turn it back on and same problem, turn it back on AGAIN, battery drained.

greggebhardt - I put in a new battery, any other suggestions on that idea?

thanks

When you plug your charger in, does the lightning bolt come on and then dissapear after a few hours. Does it look as though it is charging? If so you must have a short and it might be time to visit the service department.
